For some reason, the letter in not shown at all in the 2022 reprint. This letter is important to the story and it's a nice touch the novel starts by showing it in its entirety.
In the early editions, the page directly before Chapter 1 shows the hand-written Thank You letter (see below, Gallery). This is a comparison between the 2022 US reprint and the 1991 UK edition.
