Overall, it was a good set up for the next book and an age appropriate story for a younger audience. Otherwise, I’m not sure I would have continued to be honest. Things don’t really start picking up till the halfway mark, and I was curious to find out more about the Oldies, which was what kept me going in the first place. This was a slow burn read with a bit of repetitiveness, but the author does a nice job of leaving you with a trail of bread crumbs to follow. I was too old for Goosebumps by the time they released, but I did start reading some with my 8 year old son recently. I was a Fear Street reader back in the day.
